June's Out All Night MyGlam Bag

June's MyGlam Bag

What is this?
MyGlam
How much?
$10 a month
Where can I get it?
http://myglam.com/

This month, MyGlam sent out stuff to stay looking fierce while you are out partying all night long. I love the whole sparkle clutch/bag and theme for this month. But I have to be honest, I had some problems with this months bag. My problems: missing lipstick and stinky bag. And when I say stinky, I mean fishy, musty, awful death stench. I know other girls have had this problem before but I'd never experienced a stinky bag. MyGlam was polite, apologetic for the smelly bag and sent me out a replacement bag and lippie. It took about 2 weeks to get a replacement but I did and again got a stinky bag. Huh? I did the Paper Bag trick (thanks Zadi!) and it worked but it took about 2 days to work. Both my bags were very bad quality. Lots of glitter fallout and loose clasps. Other than that, I looove this month!

In my June MyGlam bag:
*Philosophy Take a Deep Breath Oil-Free Energizing Oxygen Gel Cream Moisturizer
*NYX Round Lipstick in Power
*Living Proof Frizz Nourishing Styling Cream
*Marbella Permanent Eyeliner Pen in Black

Philosophy? NYX? Is this really MyGlam's bag? So glad they are stepping up their game. On to the goodies!

I absolutely am a Philosophy Girl. Have been for years and swear by their products. This was my first time trying the Philosophy Take a Deep Breath Moisturizer and I love it! I use Aveeno Positively Radiant with SPF on a daily basis but I could totally see myself using this when I feel too lazy to do my makeup or just feel like giving my face a break. It goes on smooth, its oil free and is super lightweight. I also love that is absorbs quick into my skin and how it makes my skin feel refreshed. I recommend this for people with oily or combo skin. I'm not sure how well it works with dry skin but I do like this moisturizer a lot.

Since my original bag was missing the lipstick, I wonder what color I was originally supposed to have. I was lusting over the bright Magenta lippies other girls were getting and was hoping I would get one too. Instead, the NYX Round Lipstick I received was in the color 'Power'. At first, I wasn't too thrilled. Looking at the bottom I could tell this color would be too pastel for my liking. Well, I have learned my lesson not to judge a lipstick by its bottom. Although I wouldn't wear this on a daily basis or often, it didn't turn out so bad. It is a pinky, purple cream lippie that does go on a bit pastel, kind of greyish. Not quite the best color but not the worst. I personally wouldn't have bought this on my own but it doesn't hurt to have in my Caboodle.

I've never tried anything from the Living Proof hair care line but I am so glad I could try this in my bag. I suffer from frizz from time to time, especially since I live in the desert where Monsoon season likes to bring in humidity conditions and mess with my tresses. I personally didn't think I would see any difference but I was soooo wrong! Not only does it smell good but it works. You just need a small amount in your damp and you are good to go. I will be buying a full size of this Living Proof Frizz Cream.

I loooove eyeliner! At the moment I am on a pen liner kick since getting the Physicians Formula Eye Booster Liner a while back so this was awesome to get. I do have to admit I am still a little weary of using this especially since I emailed the company to ask questions about its safety and never got a response. The Marbella Permanent Eyeliner is a pen liquid liner that is supposed to be semi-permanent until removed with makeup remover and shouldn't budge throughout the day. It says it isn't safe to use if you wear contacts and since I do I was extra cautious. As long as you don't get it in your eyes and you aren't lining anything other than your upper lash line, you are good. I really like it. One big problem is the smell it has to it. It smells very chemically and that doesn't sit well with me. Also, it isn't very "semi-permanent". It didn't smudge or budge at first but towards the end of the day, it managed to find its way into my crease. I don't have oily lids and I had primer on so I would have to try it without a primer. Other than the company never getting back to me and the other two reasons I listed, its good. Would I buy this? No. But I am glad I got to try it.

I am so glad to see MyGlam getting better. They do have a ton of potential and I will stick with them as long as I see improvements.

I give this bag 4 out of 5 stars and I cannot wait to see what MyGlam has in store.

June's Jet Set Birchbox: Box 2

June's Jet Set Birchbox

What is this?
Birchbox
How much is this?
$10 a month
Where can I get this?
https://www.birchbox.com (FYI this is my referral link)

This is Birchbox number 2 for the month of June. This box is part of Birchbox's Jet Set theme and is for the on the go girl who needs do-it-all beauty products or maybe small, easy to use and easy to carry items. To see box number one just click here! On to the goodies.

In my second June Birchbox:
*Eyeko Skinny Liquid Liner in Black
*Melvita Rose Floral Water
*theBalm Stainiac in Beauty Queen
*Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream
*Band-Aid Cynthia Rowley Dress Up Band-Aids
*John Varvatos Star USA

This box was made for me! LOVES IT! How cool are those Band-Aids? I got two Stainiacs so I will giving one away. So on to the reviews.

I am in loooove with the Eyeko Skinny Liner! I literally haven't touched another liner since I got this one. Easy to use, long wearing, goes on smooth and easily is an everyday use beauty product. Seriously, I will be buying this in all the colors available. This is not only a keeper but also highly recommended.

Mmmmm.... I adore the scent the Melvita Rose Floral Water leaves on my face. It makes me feel fresh, clean and ready to take on the Summer heat. It also kind of makes me feel a bit fancy. :p Its both a light toner and mid-day skin refresher. I already stashed this in my handbag!

See my review for the theBalm Stainiac in my first June Birchbox post by clicking here.

I didn't really know what to use the Yu-Be Moisturizing Cream but since it has a big list of uses I decided I would try it. This is Japans best selling cream and has a concentrated formula that you can use on just about any part of your body that needs a bit of help, including chapped lips or dry face. It really helped my dry, cracked hands transition from the cold into the Summer. Of course this cream has a little medicated smell to it but nothing major and wears off as you wear it. It also is non-greasy and that is huge because I hate greasy creams. If you think you could use this or want to try it, you can go to Yu-Be's website to request some samples but you have to pay $4.95 in shipping.

I got two Lifestyle extras in this box. And one of the was a spiffy box of Cynthia Rowley Dress Up Band-Aids. I was so stoked to get them because I hoard Band-Aids with designs and cartoon characters like crazy! These are super cute! I especially love the ones that have the sequins all over. FYI, these have been spotted at Target on clearance, just in case you want to pick up a box. ;)

My second Lifestyle extra was immediately smuggled away from me from my dad. Ha! Birchbox threw in a John Varvatos Star USA sample which is a cologne for men in the boxes this month. My BF got this sample in his June Birchbox Man box and he loved it! I love it too and it smells yummy on my guy. Nice one BB!

I absolutely loved my June Birchboxes but I think this one is hands down my fave! 5 stars BB, keep it up!

June's Jet Set Birchbox: Box 1

June's Jet Set Birchbox

What is this?
Birchbox
How much is this?
$10 a month
Where can I get this?
https://www.birchbox.com (FYI this is my referral link)

This month's BB theme is Jet Set. It is devoted to products that a jet setter can take with her when on the go. Small, multi-purpose items that make it easy for the busy girl to stay beautiful. Now, just so you know I do get 2 different Birchboxes every month. I have 2 different BB accounts & pay for 2. This is box 1. Let's get on to the goods!

In my first June Birchbox:
* theBalm Stainiac in Beauty Queen
*Juicy Couture Juicy Couture Perfume
*Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint in Bronze
*Coola Cucumber Matte Mineral Face SPF 30 Sunscreen
*Comodynes Self-Tanning Intensive towlettes (2)
*Modcloth Through The Wire Headband in Deer
*Artspace.com $25 off coupon

How awesome is my box?!? I was stoked when I opened it. Minus the tanning towlettes, I absolutely will use every single item in this box. Why do I hate the tanning towlettes? Well, read on and see. On to the reviews!

I really like the idea of theBalm's Stainiac. But it really doesn't do much for me. I mean, I'll use it but it won't replace any of my stains, blushes or glosses. Compared to Benefit's Benetint, I definitely like Benetint waaaay more. You basically have to go over your lips at least 3-4 times to get a color going. It looks really red in the packaging but the color is very subtle. I will most likely carry it in my tote because you never know when you will need that little bit of color.

I used to be such a Juicy girl back in the early 2000's. But I think I just grew out of it. But even then, I still indulge in some Juicy Couture fragrances. I really adore all the Juicy scents, with the original signature scent being one of my faves. Its a little sweet and a little floral. Its nice to wear anytime really. Since I have 2 big Juicy Couture's, this will be passed on for someone else to enjoy.

I may be in the minority but I loooove the Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint! When I got it and saw that it was Bronze, I was kind of bummed but I tried it and it was perfect! I don't have to wear as much cover up or foundation as usual when I wear this under my makeup. Its a bit sparkly but that's the whole "Luminizing" point. I cannot wait to get a full size of this with my BB points.

I really like the Coola Matte Mineral Face SPF but I won't be leaving my everyday facial SPF for it. I use Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 15 everyday and I love it. Coola is cool and it smells good but it isn't for me. I like that it dries matte and helps to keep shine down but I did notice it was a bit too drying on my skin. I will give this another try but for now, I'll stick to what I know.

*sigh* I got 2 Comodynes Self-Tanning Towlettes in my box and I couldn't help but roll my eyes. Now, I know some ladies like to tan and use these products and that's great. But I am a very brown skinned Latina that lives in the desert. I have no use whatsoever for these. In my Birchbox profile I put that my skin coloring is Medium, so why would I need/want tanning towlettes? I could always pass them on to someone but WTF Birchbox?

I had already put the Modcloth Deer Headband in the Do Not Want box I have. But thankfully my lovely BF told me to give it a try. And I am so happy I did! It is too freaking cute and perfect for the summer. The main reason I didn't want it was because of the color and designs. It was very busy and brightly colored and didn't think it would match with any of my clothes. WRONG! Its just plain fun to wear so the matching doesn't matter! It is wired so you can wear it a couple of ways so that is always a plus. I might even buy a couple more from Modcloth because I really enjoyed it.

The Artspace.com $25 off  coupon will most likely go unused. I love art but most of the stuff on there is over $150 and I really can't afford that.

All in all, I really love my box. I give this box 4 out of 5 stars. :)

June's BEAUTYBAR.com Sample Society Box

June's Sample Society

Lots of goodies!
What is this?
BEAUTYBAR.com with Allure Magazine's Sample Society
How much?
$15 a month
Where can I get it?
http://www.beautybar.com/

This month, Sample Society wants me to have beachy waves, plump lips, less eye wrinkles, clear skin and smell like my grandma. Okay, maybe not like my grandma but when I get Oscar De La Renta, that is all I can think of. Oops! Anyway, I really cannot stop raving about SS and how amazingly awesome this sub is. I have been with SS since the start and it has quickly become my top beauty box. Minus last month of course, but that is subject to taste. The sizes of these luxury beauty samples are perfect! Most of them are "deluxe sized" and for $15, that is a STEAL. Also, every month you get a $15 gift code for BEAUTYBAR.com to use on that months products. Of course you have to spend $50 to use it but I happen to think its a great perk. On to the goods.

In my June Sample Society box:
*Alterna Boho Waves Texture Mist
*Caudalie Premier Cru Eye Cream
*Oscar De La Renta Live in Love
*Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip Plumper in Tokyo
* Murad Acne Clarifying Cleanser

I'm really not sure as to what the theme is this month. Although it seems like its like a staying young/anti-aging Summer box. I don't know but I like it. Luckily, I have tried 2 of the items featured in this months box before (Alterna Texture Mist & Murad Cleanser), I am wearing 2 others at the moment (Oscar De La Renta & Jane Iredale) and I will be trying the Caudalie Eye Cream tonight. So I'll review the items I have tried.

I absolutely love Alterna's Texture Mist! Now that I have let my hair grow long, I will use this a lot. It has a nice smell to it and it has Organic Bamboo and Black Yucca Root in it. The mist makes my hair shiny, gives it a bit of volume and crazy texture. LOVE IT! Full size is $22 for a 4.2 oz bottle.

I am not a huge fan of Oscar De La Renta fragrances because to me they don't smell good. Like I said, it reminds me of my grandma. But as I am sitting here, it smells pretty good on me. I personally wouldn't buy this or wear it again but it isn't bad. Live in Love is a "green floral bouquet, with a sparkling heart and sensuous dry down." Its floral but nothing special. This will most likely live on my mom's dresser. Full size is $58 for 1.0 oz.

The Jane Iredale Lip Plumper is nice. I have a few lip plumping lippies but don't use them a lot. But this one will most likely be in my bag everyday. Tokyo is a nice sheer pinky coral color. It looks dark in the tube but it really goes on sheer. It smells very cinnamon like in the tube and tingles when it goes on. It goes on very smooth and has a hint of shimmer. Even though I will never have Jolie lips, this is a fun product to try. Full size is $25.

I used the Murad Acne line about 4 years back. Hated it! In fact, it made me break out like crazy. But I got a Murad Hybrids Acne Primer in my April SS box and I looooved it! So maybe I'll give this cleanser a second try. Murad Acne Clarifying Cleanser is $26 for 6.75 oz.

All in all, pretty good box! 4 stars out of 5. :)

Glossybox Blush Brush
What is this?
Glossybox USA
How much?
$21 a month (Plus tax, depending on where you live)
Where can I get it?
http://www.glossybox.com/

I got my first ever Glossybox over the weekend and I can say it was love at first sight. Beautiful packaging and amazing beauty products, all worth the price. I have to be honest though, I haven't really had a chance to try all of the products but what I have tried was really good.

In my May Glossybox:
*Phyto Phytojoba Intense Hydrating Mask for Dry Hair (France)
*Marvis Whitening Toothpaste in Whitening Mint (Italy)
*Burberry Beauty Lip Mist Natural Sheer Lipstick in Copper No.  202 (UK)
*Amore Pacific Moisture Bound Refreshing Hydra Gel (South Korea)
*Zoya Beach and Surf Collection Nail Polish in Shelby (USA)
*Glossybox Blush Brush

Each beauty product featured is from a different part of the world which is pretty awesome. Not meaning that you cannot get these in the US but the products are better known and used in that country. Gotta love how the US product is a Nail Polish! :p

Love the Marvis Whitening Toothpaste! Its cute! At $7.50 for a full size (1.23 oz), I will most likely be buying this. It comes in shiny packaging and is delightfully minty. Also, I think my teeth look whiter,

Love, love, love my Burberry Beauty Lip Mist! LOVE IT! I didn't think I would like it because of the color but I am glad I was wrong. It is a very coppery color in the tube but on it is sheer and oh so creamy. Its a bit on the small size but I happen to think its a perfect size when on the go. The smell is very lovely too which is a very importing thing to me. This will definitely be on my shopping list! Full size is $30.00.

I didn't want to like the Amore Pacific Hydra Gel. I really didn't. Because of the price tag of $100 for a full size (1.7 oz). I wanted it to be icky and bad. But of course, I had to go and love it. It is soooo amazing! Its hydrating, silky and very luxurious! I tend to break out when I try new facial products but so far so good and that is a good thing. It smells okay, kind of alcoholly but nothing special. The packaging is really neat because it has a mirror on top of the lid and I have never seen a facial gel or lotion with that that before. Also, this is Oil-Free. A biiiig YES on my list of must haves in any of my facial products. I don't know if I will purchase this but I like knowing that it is out there.

Love polish, love Zoya and I like the addition of it in the box. I have a ton of polishes, including Zoya so I hope we get more polishes in the future. I personally don't like the color I got. I call it Pepto Pink and I hate the way that color looks on me. So this one will be going to a new home. Although, I definitely will be buying others from the Beach and Surf collection but Shelby is not for me. A full size Zoya polish is $8.00.

The GlossyBox Blush Brush is a meh. Its cute but nothing to write home about. It is crafted from the "finest goat's hair" but it feels cheap to me. I'll use it but not on a daily basis. Probably I will use it as a translucent powder dusting brush. But I do hope they include other beauty tools in future boxes.

All in all, I give May's Glossybox 5 stars out of 5.

xoxoMarshie
